Discovering Destiny

Mission
To utilize the “arts” and the “creative process” by immersing teens/students into the world of acting in a professional, educational, and creative atmosphere.
Vision
To develop community-based, arts integrated projects and partnerships with other organizations geared towards targeting underserved populations that our vital to our community.
Discovering Destiny’s Guiding Principles
In order to realize our mission and vision, we will follow these tactics:
• Empower our youth by offering quality art programs.
• Expose our rising youth to a variety of artistic projects
Discovering Destiny Goals:
Educating and reengagement of disengaged youth.
Support from mentor-integrated and expert theater professionals.
Offer structurally based programs throughout the city.
Ensure partnerships with school systems, museums, recreation centers and community-based youth development program curriculums.
Successfully combine theater fundamentals
Provide an atmosphere to allow students to develop skills without competition or pressure.
Stimulate their minds and exercise their bodies.
The emphasis is on exposure to different techniques.
Strive to create good communication, knowledge, and social interaction.
Students will be given tools to enhance their own skill level.
Rising Actors/young performers
Focuses on dramatic arts and acting
Create a foundation to facilitate a lifetime of continuous learning by providing skills, tools, and encouragement needed to succeed.
Students explore their creativity and immerse themselves in a program that is rewarding and fun.
Projects are designed to empower, renew, and explore their artistic abilities to fullest capacity.

Discovery Destiny programs will:
- Foster self-awareness
- Develop social and communication skills
- Increase self-esteem and discovering positive self-image
- Manage behavior on personal and interactive level by building character
- Aid in problem solving and create new pathways in developing leadership skills
- Reduce anxiety by discovering the therapeutics effects of the “arts”.

Destiny: Beyond the Stage
Destiny: Beyond The Stage is to creatively & artistically build on addressing important social issues in the City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County. We envision using theatre arts as a creative way of improving the quality of life in our community.
Beyond The Stage is committed to achieving our goals by serving and developing alliances with other organizations in our community that are geared toward improvement of social issues in Youth & Family Development.

The Destiny Platinum 50 Community Partnership Program
Destiny Theatre Company is excited to introduce our newly developed “Destiny Platinum 50” Community Partnership program and we would be honored to partner with your organization and have you as a part of the prestigious Platinum “50”.
During these hard economic times many companies and organizations are struggling or closing their doors and it is going to take organizations and companies like ours to come together as one in order to survive and continue to stay in line with our missions and obligation to those in our community. Because we know that times are hard we are not asking for a hand out (money) but a partnership.
By developing a partnership we believe it can mutually impact the life of each other’s institutions as we seek to enrich the quality of life in Chattanooga. By being a community partner, you are directly investing in the community through supporting educational, cultural and entertaining programming.
